Founder & CEO

Alfonso Machado serves as the President and Managing Partner of NDS Capital, a private equity, where he oversees multimillion-dollar clients. He is actively involved in asset management strategies, portfolio diversification, trust structures, and coordination with tax advisors and legal counselors. Mr. Machado also supervises financial and investment education, philanthropy coordination, and succession planning.

The firm operates as a General Partner of a Private Equity Fund, focusing on capital investments in commercial service businesses across South Florida. Additionally, it is engaged in a Partnership business, financing, co-acquiring, developing, holding for investment, operating, and selling residential and commercial real estate in the New England Region, specifically in Cambridge.

Among other responsibilities, he serves as Member of the Board of Avespa Holdings, Chairman and CEO of The GreenShape Group, and Portfolio Manager at General Partner Investment Fund.

Before joining NDS Capital, Mr. Machado served as a Director and Member of the Board at Commonwealth Bank & Trust Ltd., a bank focused on small and mid-size corporate banking that he co-founded in 2010.

His prior experience includes working as the Director of Treasury for the Development Bank of Latin America, where he managed all aspects of treasury and asset management. He supervised and co-managed investment-grade and non-investment-grade fixed-income portfolios estimated at approximately US$10 billion on the buy side. Mr. Machado served on credit, risk management, and technology committees, and was a Member of the Board of the Latin American Investment Company Guarantee Ltd., a joint venture with AIG specialized in political risk insurance in Latin America.

Before his tenure at the bank, he worked as the CFO for the Latin America Reserve Fund. In addition to his firm-wide responsibilities, he led the Fund’s Investment Committee, as well as the Asset Management, Capital Markets, and Research and Development teams.

While working for the Supranational Institutions, Mr. Machado was a representative member of the Bank for International Settlements, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Inter-American Development Bank.

Prior to the Fund, Alfonso Machado worked for Ernst & Young Consulting LLP as a Senior Manager in the Financial Services practice. During this time, he was involved in projects for Coca-Cola, Banco Santander, BBVA, and Banco Credicoop.

Mr. Machado holds an MBA from the University of Illinois, completed Executive Education at Chicago Booth at the University of Chicago and Yale School of Management, and has a BA in Business Administration with a specialization in Banking and Finance.
